Looks like there were several times Babylon invaded Israel from 607-586 B.C. With each rebellion against Babylonian rule, Nebuchadnezzar would come and haul off more captives.
Here's is a good discussion on what happened:

The fact of the matter is that if/when they divorce, eventually some other man will be sleeping with his wife (young attractive women usually don't last long in the singles sphere); and his girls will be calling another man daddy...... and he gets to pay for it. Most men are simply not willing to turn their wife and kids over to another man and mail them a pile of cash every month. But, I guess he is not most men. Very generous of him.
It will hit him like a ton of bricks one day.

why doesn’t rank and file see this?
False prophecies, hypocrisy, teaching changing "truth".... none of it matters. JW's are blinded to the obvious for the same reason that the Pharisees couldn't accept Jesus even after acknowledging that his miracles were real.
John 11: 47 - "Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles."
Jesus didn't come to judge the world, but to save it. He attacked people's illusions of superiority. Biblical Christianity doesn't fit with the moral superiority of JW mindset. This is what they are unwilling to budge on.

Interesting comment from the video remarks:
I am a linguist of Jewish ancestry who has worked in Bible translation. You are correct about the "cross" problem with the JWs.
Remember that the incidents reported in the New Testament took place in the languages of Aramaic, spoken by the Jews, and Latin which was the language used by the Romans--nothing happened in Greek. (The Jews stopped speaking Hebrew before the Babylonian exile and only used it when reading the Bible in the synagogue like today.)
Greek was used as the "lingua franca" so that people across the Roman Empire who spoke a plethera of different tongues could understand the gospel (it was the "common language" of the Empire due to the previous Hellenization under Alexander the Great.)
Everything that happened, including the crucifixion, had to be translated into Koine Greek--but the cross was a new invention by the Romans and there was no word for it in Greek. So they used the word STAUROS for it, but it was imprecise. as STAUROS only means pole.
The Roman instrument of torture, the cross used a pole, a crossbeam, and a small foot rest to induce a slow means of suffication to victims who were stripped nude and forced to urinate and empty their bowels upon themselves over a period of several days until they died in front of passersby.
Another word, XYLON meaning "tree" is used by Luke and Peter after Jesus is resurrected for theological purposes because Christians likened the Cross to the "Tree of Life" from the Garden of Eden. The Church Fathers also used XYLON for the Cross and created an entire theology based on this.

Jeffrey Winder says in the video, Quote: "He [Jehovah] reveals matters gradually when it is needed".
That is a lie from hell. That's not what my bible says:
"But, though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed". - Gal. 1: 8-9
New light ended with the death of the apostles. Progressive revelation is a "doctrine of demons".
"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons" - 1 Timothy 4: 1

Thoughts on annual meeting “new light”
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.
old light: once the “great tribulation” starts, that’s it for non-jws.
the “door of the ark” is closed.

The entire JW doctrinal apparatus is so far out of line with scripture that it bears zero resemblence to biblical Christianity.
1. The bible says repeatedly that the heart is wicked and not to trust it. Think about it, who wouldn't estimate their heart to be good? WT Salvation by posessing a good heart hasn't changed, only the time of the inspection has changed. Previously, it was determined when literature was offered. If you accpted it - you had a good heart. If you rejected the literature - you had a bad heart. Now you get to wait until the GT to find out if you have a good heart. JW's are still taught to be fools by looking to their heart for their salvation.
Proverbs 28: 26 - "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool"
2. They still teach that people who die who are not JW's (the unrighteous) will be given a second chance in the "resurrection of the unrighteous" where they will gradually be saved by studying WT literature in the millennial reign. There is no ressurrection of damnation in WT theology:
John 5: 29 - "And hath given him authority to execute judgment....for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice... and shall come forth...they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation".
The only reason I can see why they made this change is so that the number of suicides might be reduced. Bad publicity. Over the years, I have seen several df'd posters commit suicide because they couldn't take life without family anymore. Perhaps they saw that as a way of ensuring the WT version of the "resurrection of the unrighteous". If they waited to die until the GT broke out, they would lose their chance to see loved ones again.
Now, they don't have to snuff themselves. They only need to have a "good heart" during the GT.
Fortunately, biblical salvation is much simplier and more guaranteed than that:
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Romans 10:9
"if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
As long as a person doesn't try to add their own works or their church affiliation to the lordship of Jesus, (which nullifies Jesus lordship), they will be saved.The purpose of the WT is to get people to put their trust in their heart, good works, the organization..... anything but Jesus alone. Biblically, everything has been bought, paid for and prearranged. All a person has to do is receive it. -

Is The GB Paranoid? And Should They Be?
by NotFormer inthe gb seems to have a bunker mentality, that they are special, and that the world is out to get them, so they tend to keep within their tightly controlled, protective environment.
bottlegate proved that there is some danger outside of the rarified atmosphere of their echo chamber; you never know when a camera might be trained on you, or that someone might recognise you as being something more than plain old "joe citizen".
further, tm3's new address was quickly found and distributed, and (as i understand it) someone drove to his gated community to tell the security guard that tm3's "ass is grass".

So why not set up a "Jehovah's Witness Protection Program?"
It will take an assination attempt. I suggest Babylon, Iraq as a resettlement area.

My grandmother called my mother
by Anony Mous inso, i’m just posting this as a warning to lurking jws.
if you’re still on the fence, here is a story.. my grandmother, now in her 80s hasn’t talked to anyone in the family for over 20 years ever since my mother was the last one of her children that left ‘the truth’, she had sent my mother a card to never talk to her again.
so here we are 21 years later, she gets a call out of the blue that she needed help, she hadn’t been able to get into her kitchen.

@Vidiot
I’ve only ever read about stories like this; I’ve never seen it firsthand (not that I’m doubting you guys).
Tell your mother and your relartives that you only trust Jesus and see what happens. Your unbelief is not a threat to them. It actually increases their thoughts of moral superiority.

People need pull out a dictionary and simply look up "God". God is infinite, otherwise he wouldn't be omnipotent.
The purpose of time is not so that God can find out things, it is so that we can find out things and LEARN. God is the repository of all POSSIBLE knowledge.
The purpose of time is that through it, we can learn the future and some will come to the conclusion that they should throw in their lot with God, and dare I SAY .... love him. It is the one thing he cannot create, but must be given willingly. This is the WHOLE point of our existence."He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”
